Vlogstar Challenge Partners

Established in 2015, the Vlogstar Challenge is a unique competition and training initiative run by Media Trust in partnership with Jack Petchey Foundation. The Vlogstar Challenge is also partnered and supported by YouTube and the Evening Standard.

Media Trust strives to bridge the gap between the media and creative industries with charities and under-represented communities by promoting skills-based volunteering, empowering young people from diverse backgrounds to work in media, and facilitating capacity building and multi-stakeholder dialogue and collaboration with them all.

By doing this, we hope to give charities, under-represented communities, and young people a stronger voice while contributing to a more responsible, representative, and connected media sector and ultimately, a more socially cohesive Britain.

Established in 1999, the Jack Petchey Foundation makes grants to programmes and projects that benefit young people aged 11-25. The Foundation exists to raise the aspirations of young people, to help them take advantage of opportunities and play a full part in society. The geographical focus of our work is London and Essex. Since it has been established the Foundation has invested over £118 million in projects supporting young people.

Our major programme, the Achievement Awards is a peer recognition scheme and includes grass roots youth clubs, youth organisations, secondary schools and uniformed organisations throughout London and Essex. Nominations are made by young people as well as teachers, parents, and supporting adults. The young award winners choose how best to spend their award money to the benefit of their club or school.
