Over 1,500 young people in London and Essex were trained on how to vlog and create an impact. The participants were narrowed down to 15 finalists that competed to be crowned the Vlogstar Challenge champion 2017 at BAFTA on the 14 July 2017.
This years winner Isaac Harvey from Essex representing the Redbridge Youth Council, created a vlog on the importance of hard work in achieving your goals. He won mentoring from YouTube to develop his channel, £500 worth of camera equipment, £2,000 for the Redbridge Youth Council and a paid opportunity to film for an upcoming campaign of a major global brand courtesy of Vidsy.
Megan Kacar from Waltham Forest representing Highams Park 6th Form, picked up the Best Technical Skills Award for her brilliant animation skills.
Justyn Hollett from Essex representing Music Relief took home the Rising Star Award for the finalist who has made the most progression throughout the competition. He produced a series of vlogs called “I AM BRAVESCAR.” that discusses the adversity that Justyn faced growing up with scars on his body and how he has braved through these challenges.
